Does anyone wear dress pants to work without heels? Do you think they look ok with flats or a low wedge, or do you think dress pants only look good with some kind of heel?
I think they look perfectly fine. The main thing is that the shoes are dressy, since it's dress pants, the heels are irrelevant.
It's never occurred to me that they'd look good only in heels. Flats and other options are perfectly fine.
I'm like a newborn giraffe learning how to walk when I'm in heels, so I always wear flats with my dress pants. I think it looks super cute!
I usually wear flats with everything!! Some aren't even dressy, I go for comfort, especially at school!!(Crocs, sandals,Tom's, etc.)
I only wear dress pants (or jeans) to work, and I always wear them with black sneakers. The only time I wore something other than black sneakers to work was when I had just got my tattoo so I wore sandals for 3 days.
Do people wear flats with dress pants like these? http://www.anntaylor.com/boutique-stretch-twill-modern-trousers/264064?colorExplode=false&skuId=90152887&catid=cata000048&productPageType=saleProducts&defaultColor=3033&CID=aff_7078679 Or these? http://www.loft.com/julie-boot-cut-pants-in-mid-weight-loft-scuba/315159?colorExplode=false&skuId=14435003&catid=catl000014&productPageType=fullPriceProducts&defaultColor=6477 I usually wear pointed black flats with the black silky dress pants, but I have trouble wearing flats with the more formal dress pants if that makes sense. And I've NEVER seen a teacher in my school wear flat shoes with pants like those!
I would wear flats with both of those. I don't wear heels for anything in life, so flats it is. I've been joked for owning 25 different pairs of black flats, actually. As long as your pants are tailored accurately, it looks fine.
Yes, making sure that the hem is not dragging on the floor is key! I know plenty of teachers who wear flats with those types of pants, myself included. I don't think it's weird at all.
I wear ballet flats with pants like those, as well. I always thought they looked cute. I do love heels, but they're not practical for me for a workday. I wear heels with pants like that to church or other dressy occasions when I don't have to be on my feet as long.
I would wear flats with those pants. I wear tennis shoes sometimes (we're allowed) when my feet hurt! I go for comfort when I'm wearing them from 6:30-4:30!!
I've only actually worn heels a handful of times to work in the last several yrs. With dress pants, I like dress ankle boots in the cooler weather & dress flats or wedges in hotter weather.
I wear them with flats or wedges all the time. The only thing that looks strange with flats to me is the super wide leg pants, which aren't very popular right now anyway.
 I wear them with tennis shoes. For me, comfort trumps style. I try not to look frumpy, of course, but tennis shoes are tennis shoes.
I wear all kinds of heel heights with my dress pants. I just match the shoe type with the pant type, so dress pants get dress shoes, no matter the heel type.
I have never worn heels to work and wear dress pants on a regular basis. I sure hope it's fine or I've been dressing incorrectly for 5 years of teaching .
LOL Caesar. Our principal has a funny thing about footwear and we can't wear sneakers unless we have a doctor's note. Thank goodness for my somewhat dressy Sketchers.
Some of my dress pants are hemmed for higher heels, others for almost-flats. (I find ballet flats very uncomfortable.)
As long as the pants don't look too long or short then wear whatever you like. I guess I'm lucky my school doesn't have the shoe police!
I am looking for some new Sketchers. They are so comfy I would wear them every day. I wore a whole right through one pair and have yet to find a suitable replacement.
Ack! I would be getting a doctor's note pronto! I sometimes wear flats, but really I prefer my tennis shoes.
Yep, flats! I do have a couple pairs that are hemmed for heels though, so I usually wear those with comfy wedges or with heels when I know I won't be on my feet for long. Most of my others are cropped ankle-length pants or the appropriate length to wear with flats. As other posters said, you just have to make sure they are hemmed correctly!
Same here. I have some really ugly but comfortable mule-like shoes and then my Brooks. Got to have them.
I actually just cuff my pants if I'm wearing flats with them. Today I wore trouser jeans with converse sneakers and they have an extra large cuff at the bottom.
I don't think I've ever worn heels with dress pants. I always wear flats. Every once in a while I'll wear heels with dresses, but I usually wear flats. They're more comfortable for me.
