So, I picked up a couple of friends, and we headed to Staples today for the penny sales. They said that we could go through the line as many times as we wanted unless we were holding up the line. That was reasonable.

I ended up going through the line 5 times, and I spend a little under $50. I'll get almost $20 of that back in rebates, though. My puchases included 125 folders, 600 pencils, and 4 reams of copy paper . . . and then there were various other "must have" items that I just had to have. Coming up with a $5 minimum purchase to get the penny stuff was no problem.

I think we made a pretty good haul!

Oh, just the stuff for a penny ended on Wednesday - the folders, pencils, copy paper - everything stays on sale until Sat.

The funny thing for me any ways, was that I thought there's no way I will need to go back & purchase $5 more worth of stuff so that I can get the .01 folders. Well, little did I know it would paid off in several folds! I purchased a box of grey file folders (100 in a bx) for .50! I also purchased 14 presentation binders for .50 cents each! I am so pleased with my findings in the clearance section! It did make it worth while purchasing $5 to get .01 folders. :thumb::thumb:

From what I heard they will be having more penny items starting Sunday. The sales lady said she thinks it will be glue and maybe something else. Guess we'll know tomorrow with the sneak peak!

We asked about notebook paper, and the guy didn't think it would be next week.

Don't worry if you missed out. They have a Teacher Appreciation Day every year where there is no minimum to buy in order to receive the 1 cent deals!

I was told Teacher Appreciation Day (Here in Phoenix) would be Aug 7th (I believe that is what he said- it's a Sat).

What I was told about the .01 paper--- 2 is the MAX you can get the rebates on. The rebates are 2 per household--- so if you purchase 4 reams-- make sure to use a different address than you did for the first 2 reams. I was told this by a sales associate at Staples.

I was also told that their next sale would have glue and the college ruled paper (guy said either .25 or .50 per pack). But he wasn't sure of the rest of what would be on sale.

We'll be in school almost three weeks before Teacher Appreciation Day here (August 21st). We're planning a trip that day, too!

My mom and I trade out rebates all the time. We rarely buy the same products, so we always send rebates in with each other's names on them.

glue for .01; index cards, 5 pk bic mechanical pencils, and sliding pencil boxes .25...no minimum purchase on the quarter items, but limit of 2. If you need them, hopefully they will let you purchase 25 like the pencils this week. The .25 items are on sale all week.

Those pencil box sliders for a quarter are exciting for me. I have been waiting for those, I will have to keep getting back in line to get a class set, but that's okay since I haven't seen them for less than a dollar anywhere. I was disappointed by the penny deal though.

I've been trying to do two trips a day, but I've been at a workshop and only went once yesterday. I didn't realize the penny sales ended today, and am very sad-I didn't get all the colors of the folders I wanted. I didn't even think about going through more than once in a trip. I'm not sure I'd have had the courage to ask... But that aside, I did well. But now all I can think about is the color folders I didn't get-orange and black. I don't even have a use for them, but I still wanted them. ;) And I didn't have a chance to get any for my partner teacher, although I really need to stop feeling guilty for not doing TWO of everything, simply because he's not around this summer...
