Hello group! I am a new fifth grade teacher starting up next month. While I have student taught and co-taught in classrooms before, this is my first solo attempt! I am very excited! I have been brainstorming some strategies to keep control in my classroom. After observing tons of classrooms I see water breaks and water bottles as a constant source of interruption to the lessons and learning. The bottles fall over, spill or kids need to leave repeatedly to get drink. Do any of you utilize water coolers in the classroom to control drink breaks? Considering an investment on this for my room to maintain control of this situation. I live in NC and it is hot hot hot here...want to make sure kids stay hydrated throughout the day without me losing my marbles... Suggestions!?
