When you guys get your watch batteries replaced, how much is it generally & how long is it guaranteed to last?

I have a place in my mall that's $10 each & will last a year. Is that how it generally is for you?

Walmart for $5 . . . and no guarantee. Never had issues, though. Usually get 2-3 years from one.

Never knew Walmart did that service. Now I can do it for my other watches.

I have a digital watch. Usually get replacement batteries at a local electronics store that carries everything from batteries to equipment to make your own cables

I have a fancy watch. I wouldn't be able to replace the battery on my own even if I wanted to. I bring it back to the place where it was purchased and they will replace the battery and clean it for free.

All of my watches have come from JC Penny. I think it's $10 there.

I had one watch done at WalMart - they didn't seal the back properly and ruined my water-proof watch. Wasn't happy about that.

I will have to take mine to a jeweler(I got a coupon for $5 to a mall store). I can never get the backs on right.

Something with my metal Movado watch wristband needs to be fixed, but I'll have to take it to a Movado place. I'm afraid to know how much it will be!

There's both a jewelry store and clock/watch repair shop in my town. I've had batteries replaced, watch band links removed ( tiny wrist) for less than $10.

eek! My brother and sis-in-law both had bad customer service experience with them when it came to repairs. My brother sent his in to have the band fixed but since it was an older model they did not have the parts to repair it. Instead of sending the watch back to him, they just sent a check for what it would have been worth. It wasn't about the money for him, but the sentimental value. My SIL gave it to him as a wedding present and the company refused to send the watch back not fixed :(

There's a store near me that changes them for $6, so that's where I usually go. I never knew WalMart changed them, either. (This particular store is actually right next to one!)

Oh that's terrible! :( I hope that doesn't happen to me. I found out that I have to send it to this place in a city an hour from me. My deceased aunt left this watch to me & I had it engraved. I'll see if I can try to find another solution first.
