Was your building designed by a total idiot?

    That's a great idea! I believe the other classrooms are similar to mine, and hopefully someone else in the department has been in this room. Or at least knows how to deal with those six sided lab benches! They are so quirky and I love them.

    Would it be too much to ask the other teachers if I could take a peek in their room to get ideas for my setup?

    Really though, I'm lucky to have this kind of classroom. I have never heard of a first year teacher actually getting a laboratory room. :)

    I don't have time to list all the problems with our building (10 years old) and the additions to each wing (four years old). How about this -- the water fountains are the appropriate height for kindergartners, but we teach 6-8. Even students in wheelchairs have trouble reaching these LOW fountains.
