I feel that the English language is regressing and getting more disgusting with time.

Yesterday I was teaching and I heard “sksksksksk.” I just said “NO thank you.”

We had an incident where kids were calling one of our girls a VSCO girl. A lot of girls are saying they are VSCO girls now.

One of my students said this last week, she'd given her group of friends a team name, and I thought she said "disco". I said, "disco squad? That's good name for your group." She said, "No, vsco! V-S-C-O." I thought it was something she made up. When I asked her what it meant she had no idea. I had no idea it was a thing. o_O

Edit: another group name she was considering was "And I oop" which, after googling vsco, is apparently related??? I suddenly feel so old.:toofunny:

    What does sksksk mean?
Sksksk is an interjection used to convey surprise, happiness, and other intense emotions. It's stereotyped as an overused expression of VSCO girls on social media.

It will truly be a prank and statement if any of the teachers are in their third decade of teaching. I know it is just a fad, but sometimes I hate mindless following of the sheep when they don't know where they are going, or why.

Had my first encounter with this on Thursday. A year 7 (8th grade) maths class. One of the lads pointed at the girl alongside and said 'She's a Visco girl'. So I started to go sksksksk. They thought it was hilarious that I knew what they were talking about! Brownie points to me. Not bad for a 60+ sub!
On Friday I had the same class for geography and they cheered when I came into the room!
