Dr. Jean has some good songs that deal with vowels/sounds. One is called "Vowel Cheer" and is on the CD Kiss Your Brain.

Jack Hartmann has a vowel sound song on his Shake, Rattle and Read CD. He also has one on his Hip Hop Alpha Bop CD as well.

We just finished our Farm theme and we sang "Old McDonald" song with the vowels. We sing it with a farm animal that has that vowel in the word. It goes something like this:

Old McDonald had a farm A-E-I-O-U
and on this farm he has a cat (because of short a sound)
    A-E-I-O-U,
    with a /a/, /a/ here and a /a/, /a/ there
here an /a/, there an /a/, everywhere an /a/, /a/
    Old McDonald had a farm
    A-E-I-O-U.

the song repeats with other farm animal: hen (short e sound), pig, dog, and duck.

i hope this is what you were looking for.

I think it's the vowel cheer from Dr. Jean that teaches the long and the short sounds. I also use the apples and bananas song to teach about long and short vowel sounds. Then, just to teach about vowels we sing the vowel bingo song:
I can name the vowels for you and you can say them too ooh
    A E IOU
    A E IOU
    A E IOU
and you can name them too ooh

Then you start over, but clap for A, and sing EIOU, just like in BINGO

I also teach about bossy e and so this also reinforeces long and short vowels
