A friend of mine who is almost blind has published a children's book which is a comforting and inspiring story about a child coping with visual impairment. Please visit her website to see excerpts and to read reviews. The book is titled A Lucky Pair. She rescues a horse which needs her as much as she needs the horse. A wonderful bond is developed between this lucky pair.

Copy an online lesson plan which goes with the book. This is the URL where her book is listed.

    inspiring

I've read this book. I'd say it is more inspiring than comforting. My visually impaired students love it. The story is conforting too about a scary subject. The book is good for regular ed and special ed kids.

It is good that there are reviews and excerpts online. The lesson plan is good too. I'm looking forward to using it. I didn't know about that.

    Thanks for posting this.
