Has anyone ordered any free rackcards from vistaprint? What did you use them for?:thanks:
I ordered rack cards and printed my class rules on them. Each student will have a copy of the rules in their class folder. That way, they always have a reminder about what to do!
I have a few other ideas (like IEP reminder cards) but I don't know that I will use rack cards for these ideas - I think maybe postcards would be better.
I finally ordered the rack cards! I love them!!
I designed my for answering open ended questions.....
I am planning on doing the class room rules as well--- and some other ideas brewing!!
What are rack cards??
I am so glad someone asked this question!

They are supposed to be the cards that go into a rack at stores to advertise things, or the ones that are at tourist attractions (that describe the attraction). HTH you
Here are links to the rack cards I made...
Please let me know if it works.....
eta-- I guess it does.
I created some without actually placing the order yet. I put together a micro-mini handbook. It has "FAQ" about 5th grade, tips for staying organized and switching classes, instructions for how to access my website and spellingcity.com, and my classroom rules. I still have a bit of room left and am trying to figure out what to add. Open to ideas!!
what to do with "free time"
how to head papers
make up work policy
You should post it when you are finished
Thanks for the info DBelmo.
Hmmm... I had been wondering about this too.... I haven't placed my order yet.... I like some of these ideas though. I didn't know what to do with these either...
Hmm... Now I'm thinking of all the things I could use the rack cards for. Academic language sentence starters is what I think I will start with.
Okay, new idea. I just made my rack cards and sent my order in. I made three boxes, one on top of the other. In the top box there is a list of amazing adjectives. The second box has vivid verbs. The third box has productive pronouns. My husband came up with the third alliteration. I think it fits because my students need to be more productive about using pronouns instead of a laundry list of names over and over again.

These are some great ideas! Can anybody think of anything for kindergarten? I was thinking maybe their popcorn words or some other type of references (colors, shapes, numbers)......what do you think?
If you could find a font that is a good example of letters in the form you use (zaner-bloser, d'nelian, etc.) you could type the letters with some space between and then laminate them - students could use dry erase markers to trace the letters.
I used to teach pre-school and I used a Big Chief tablet to make a sheet for every kid that had letters, numbers, and their name on it. It really helped the kids learn letter forms.
Love this idea. Would like to see the finished product once you get them back.
hmm... let me see if i can input the picture here..poo, how do i insert a picture??? i saved it to my computer, i tried copy and pasting... help!
Try uploading it to photobucket (or a website that hosts photos). Then put their link on here. Would love to see it too!
Here we go :
teaching-n-2: I am completely and totally stealing this from you. It's wonderful and I can have the kiddos list their own for each category on the back. I love you for sharing this.
You are welcome! I have thought about doing something like that, then I thought about doing a reading strategies one... I am trying to not buy anything else from there (since they did the whole 4 free limit thing). You all are tempting me!
You are welcome I just left the back of mine blank... not sure if you can do anything on the back or if the back will be glossy or what... I'm hoping it will be plain cardboard and non-glossy that way they can write more for their list if they want. But you are entirely welcome to steal
What 4 free limit??? I order 8 free items on one order two days ago and had no problems. Has it started in the last couple of days?
Or is it 4 free of one time from a coupon... hmmm, I just ordered like 6 things and that was just last night.
Thanks for sharing. I too will be stealing oh I mean borrowing this idea.

At the same time, in the same cart... I have tried, and when I put more than 4 items in my cart, it makes the 5th item free. Am I doing something wrong??
Make sure you are going straight from the coupon. That's the only way I seem to be able to do it. It will open up multiple windows. But since the coupon is labeled with your account number, it's saving what you're adding to your basket. So just close the vistaprint cart window each time you click on the next item to make off of the coupon e-mail. Does that make sense? I think it should. It's the only way I've been able to make it work. Hope it helps!
