Anyone use these? They sent me a free offer for them. I am not sure what to use them for. Any ideas? http://www.vistaprint.com/rack-cards.aspx?GP=8/17/2010+1:51:31+PM I hope the link works.
I use them for reading questions for the students to ask themselves. I can email you a copy of how i did mine if you would like. They are great and help a lot. I also used them for my church and I typed up all the Mass dates we have for our young youth so we can keep track of their mass attendance.
I use mine to describe the jobs students have in our class book clubs. The jobs are listed/described on front and on back students track the dates and books their group reads along with the jobs they had for each book.
What are the "jobs" that they have? Is this for elementary students? (It sounds like what I have done with MS lit. circles but was curious what roles you assign when doing with elem. )
Probably very much the same - I have been doing book clubs for years and was told last year that they are now called literature circles. The jobs they have are: Connection Director - In charge of connecting the discussion to real life or something else we've read. Standards Director - In charge of finding connections to the state reading standards. Discussion Director - In charge of coming up with 3 or 4 discussion questions and making sure everyone participates in the discussion. Wild and Wacky Word Director - In charge of finding new words, strange words, or new uses of familiar words Research Director - In charge of taking things beyond the book - research a topic from the book, the author, or a real life character that is in the book.
I just ordered a set with four different color blocks (blue, green, red, yellow) .. I WISH I had the student response clickers.. but I don't... so it's my cheap replacement to see how each student is understanding the concept I'm teaching.
