http://www.vistaprint.com/custom-magnets.aspx?GP=6%2F25%2F2008+8%3A52%3A46+AM&rd=1 Just got an email w/ a ton of things, including these. Knew some people were wanting them, so thought I would post.
So, what's the catch with vista print? Are these things really free? Thanks; I'm a little suspicious.
You pay for shipping, and that's it. Watch out the pop ups for saving $10. I must have accidently clicked one, but I was impressed because I got an email saying I was going to be charged a$15 fee, but I was able to cancel it with no problem and no payment! Ems
This is a bit off-topic... I still thought it might be useful though. You can buy magnetic printer paper for reasonable prices and make your own magents. This is a good way to get exactly what you want.
Okay, so I posted my newest VP idea on the last thread, & it got closed before I could get any feedback (that I asked for!), so here it is again: http://pwhatley.wordpress.com/2008/0...other-vp-idea/ Please let me know what you think! I am considering changing the background to a (solid) color other than white. Aaarrrgghhh! What do you think of the wording? Thanks! Oh, and nayeliesmom asked what could be put on the small magnets other than contact information. I put an educational quote on the one set I have purchased so far. I don't have a job yet, so I just did something generic.
PW- I found your stuff by going to June. I LOVE your super speller card. I really like the other too, but I don't think I would personally use the sad face. That's just me, though. It certainly fits the sentiment on the card. I used to make my agenda tickets neon pink so parents could easily find them. I referred to it as a "Pink Slip" - talk about negative connotation there! Ems
http://pwhatley.wordpress.com/2008/06/25/yet-another-vp-idea/ I think this is the link you meant to post. I think it looks good. The white is pretty plain, but it makes it look serious, like a missing assignment notice should be! I like the wording, it is very descriptive and let's the kids know that your doing your job and you want them to do the job you know they can do.
Okay, I posted the wrong link - sorry! I have revised it and I think I have made it a little more kid-friendly. I wanted something that would definitely let the student know there was a problem, but that I knew they could do better. Anyway, here's the link: http://pwhatley.wordpress.com/2008/06/25/yet-another-vp-ideayet-another-vp-idea/ Let me know what you think, okay? I'm going to the store & rebooting my puter while I'm gone - Did you know that if you leave your puter on for days & days, it will get R E A L L Y S L O W?
Thanks, MsMaggs! I got the idea from a teacher's web site on which she had posted her classroom bill of rights & responsibilities. Of course, now that I need it, I can't find it! I ad libbed, but I think it's okay. If anything, I tend to be MUCH more wordy than necessary. That's one reason I am having the student explain the missing assignment on the back - between that and the parent's signature, no one can claim they never got it! (I'm also considering bringing my laser printer/copier to school & using it to make a copy before I let it go home - can you tell we had problems with stuff not returning last year?)
I had the same problem last year. I'm using the notepad for the students to write why they had a missing assignment and then I'm sending home a postcard with a copy of the explanation for the parents to review and sign. Those darn kids are just so great at "misplacing" these kinds of things.
PW, I like it lots!!! I'll have to translate it in Spanish if I end up borrowing it. Very well written!
10 Orders later... I've posted some of my newest items...man, this is really becoming a problem! ;-) http://www.teacherweb.com/CA/Marcum-Illinois/McDowell/photo1.stm Newest stuff is at the bottom...
luvcrayons - yes, I had to upload it - after I found it by googling unhappy face or sad face. I'm not sure which one led to this particular emoticon. Please, steal as needed! Do you really think I'm creative enough to come up with all of this stuff on my own? LOL!
I saw and was flattered! I've stolen some of your ideas too! Isn't it fun seeing other people's ideas and figuring out how you can use them?!?!
