Did anyone receive the email about the new vinyl banners from Vista Print? Does anyone have any good ideas for them in the elementary classroom? I teach 5th grade.

    My thoughts were:
    Welcome sign
    Class Library sign
    Congratulations!

Let's get those creative juices going! Thanks for sharing!
    :)

I got an email about them last weekend. I was thinking about making one for my centers (you are supposed to be able to find them as soon as you walk in my room).

Would love any other ideas. I use our stuff from the last summer thread ALL the time (all my co-workers are jealous!).

Ah, the summer of VistaPrint...the memories...

My fellow teachers were so jealous of all my VP stuff that we are going to have a VP night, and make and create a bunch of stuff together. They want me to show they how.

    VistaPrint--the new Tupperware!

LOL about recalling "the summer of Vista Print!" There sure were some creative ideas. INteacher, I don't think you were the only one in need of the 12 step program .

We've already decided we're going to make brochures "advertising" our elementary, with our programs and interventions, to give to families. I think they will be particularly helpful with new students!

My biggest hit is my birthday postcards and I send them to high schoolers. I ran into one mom that told me her son still had his taped to his mirror.

One of my other "bestest" is my business card for my students to record all the numbers that have to learn, username, passwords, lunch #, my websites . . . . I also used quite a few "your child slept through my class today" postcards and my Mrs. N thinks your awesome postcards were also a big hit.

I really, really like my car magnet "Testing Do Not Disturb" sign and the best of all was my missing homework postcard.

I have tried to ignore all my vista emails but they have got NEW stuff . . . . . .

Yeah... so I kept thinking those sales were never going to end, and I didn't order anything. Now that I have a job and a better idea of what I want, I haven't gotten email from them in AGES. Are they still giving stuff away? Even a few business cards would be nice...

Yes, they still are! You can even go onto the website and see the free products, though they might not be the exact ones in the emails.

Were all those things free or did you pay for some? I really like the rules and consequences/rewards posters.

I don't even have a class yet, but I'm starting to collect things that I think will be useful.

I just ordered a pen, 250 business cards (reward for great student behavior), a rubber stamp (group work - participation grade) and a car magnet (VOTE: Make change happen. - i'm going to be a journalism teacher). It was only $7 with shipping, so I think that was pretty good. I'm starting a box to keep everything in until I start student teaching and need some of it.

Is there a limit on free things?

Ex: if you get business cards... can you only do that once or twice?

You can get 10 free items per order but you can order as many times as you want to.

Can you place orders of ONLY free items?

(I would think from a business standpoint that wouldn't make sense... they WANT you to order things that COST.)

You can order only free items. You have to pay the shipping and handling. I never order anything that costs execpt that sometimes I get red ink on a stamp which is $1.99.

Just placed an order for the banner - it's the banner with the blue back ground, the world and a big red ribbon going around the world - my slogan is "history makes the world go round"

I will let everyone know what is looks like :)

I placed 3-4 orders I think... Only one free item per order. Those rules/consequences are in my behavior folders.

Feel free to ask any questions :) I have some things I want to make this summer too.

I'm so addicted! In my order confirmation, they sent some more freebie offers, but I know that I should wait. Maybe I will start doing this every pay day.... lol!

OHHHHH be very careful about clicking of free offers - most of the time they aren't free and will charge whatever card you used to make the purchase. Google vistaprint complaints and you will see complaints from tons of people about getting a monthly charge. When you place your order you should NOT click on the $10 rebate, additional free offers, magazines, etc . . . . . you might need to check your statements the next few months to see if you are charged anything else by them. I love vistaprint and have never had any trouble with them because I was warned about clicking on anything else.
