Depends which district. I have been told by many sources (including the recruiters) that PWS and FCPS are not doing much until mid-July. They have kept touch with me via emails that may or may not be form letters sent to all job fair people. The FX recruiter told me to email all the principals while I am waiting. I applied to both of these districts back in March. One district just called over the weekend to offer me a job; I submitted my application online over a month ago and heard nothing. I had already had a screening interview at a job fair. I got two interviews the same week I applied (and two job offers, including one on the spot). I had another interview request from a district that took down their posting for the job, so I never submitted the online application. Weird. Haven't heard anything from the other 7 or 8 that I submitted. But one of them (Manassas) would not interview me until my final transcript is in and when I told them I was graduating first week of July, they told me to get all materials in, but that they could not consider me until everything was official. They also called me saying my references were invalid because they did not include my current supervisor. I had letters from professors I did PUBLISHED RESEARCH with, and they wouldn't move forward with my application until I replaced one of those with one from the STUDENT who supervises my $6/hr student job, so I had to pay $8 for her to fax in a blank form (there was nothing she could fill out). Manassas HR hasn't impressed me much. It looked to me like the smaller districts around Richmond and Williamsburg Schools had already closed or started to close their listings by the 2nd week in June.
