Veterans Day

    Veterans day is next Tuesday and, schoolwide, we have have to have something planned that day to recognize our veterans. Any suggestions?

    Your kids are so young. Could you have them lead the rest of the school in the Pledge of Allegiance?

    They could make thank you cards or a large thank you banner to be distributed to veterans at a local veteran's hospital.

    Our students have the day off. We discussed what veterans are & that we should thank any veterans we know or meet.

    One student said that his dad was in the army and that is the reason he is bald on top- an indian shot him with an arrow right over the top of his head!!!

    Do you mean an art activity/gift or a presentation?

    It can be anything related to Veterans day. I found a cute star necklace we are going to make, then we will discuss what a veteran is.

    It might be too late for this...for you can have students bring a poster of a Veteran family member or friend.

    Better yet...if you have magazines for the class...have your students look for men/women in uniform, cut out the pics and glue to poster board or butcher paper!
