Is anyone familiar with this scholar award? My son received a letter from this company and was nominated by his middle school teacher. Is this a valid award and worth applying for and buying the book?
    Thanks.

TeacherGroupie's Rule of Scholar Awards: If you're supposed to buy something, it's probably bogus. Chances are pretty good that the nomination was bogus too.

I used to get those things all the time when I was in Elementary School but it was the Who's Who in Schools or something like that. I think my parents did it just once and after that it never came again.

:hijack:Speaking of the Who's Who award, I have seen many teachers and administrators who list this award on their websites. (district and school websites) It embarrasses me because they obviously don't know it's fake! And it's not just new teachers, but people who have been in education for years.
