I am taking suggestions on how to update my teaching portfolio from 6 years ago. What is cutting edge these days? What elements should/could I include? Is digital better than paper? Just want to get the thoughts of other professionals.
I have a paper portfolio as well as an online portfolio. I included my classroom and behavior management plan, philosophy of education, and sample lesson plans in both versions. In the paper portfolio (which I plan to take to interviews), I used Google Sketchup to create a diagram of what my classroom would look like.
I'm not really into this scene, but I'd hazard a guess that sticking some common core alignment into your sample lessons would go over well, if the climate in my principal's office is anything to go by...
I created mine on Weebly. It is very easy to use and there are many templates to choose from. Another option would be Google sites.
I also use Weebly for my portfolio. It is great and super easy to navigate. It allows me to show some of the technology I use in class. Principals want to see that you know know how to integrate technology.
I think I might work with Weebly. I would love to see some samples. I am going to do an old google search I suppose.
Keep on posting your ideas, especially different things/categories you would include. :thumb::thanks:
