    Hi everyone,
I've present with a new challenge. I'm currently a long-term substitute in first grade. I just accepted a permanent offer to teach second grade (in the same school). This is going to be a new section/class in second grade. The students have already started the year with others teachers. Approximately, six students from the other selection/class will be moved to my 'new' class. Does anyone have any suggestions, tips, or advice for how to help transition the students?
    Thanks Much!!

In addition to doing a lot of community building in the classroom, I would try to get in good with the parents right away. I'm guessing they aren't going to be too happy with the change. A few years ago they added a new section a few days before school even started, and many parents had a difficult time.
