Hi PinkLily...I'm in Canada, too and I don't know much about the program but the middle school I taught at last year used All the Right Type....the kids seemed to love it.
yahoo has a typing game (something about a shark)-I'ts free to do online but yahoo is banned at our school. We used the program Type to Learn
Here are some fun sites that have games for learning keys on the keyboard at various levels: http://funschool.kaboose.com/fun-blaster/back-to-school/games/game_super_hyper_spider_typer.html http://www.surfnetkids.com/games/Typing_Games/ http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/typing/ http://funschool.kaboose.com/fun-blaster/super-speller/games/game_type_me.html
This website is the best I've found for free typing practice. Beyond this, Type to Learn is good but not free. http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/typing/
Here are another couple of fun ones: http://www.earobics.com/gamegoo/games/frieda/frieda.html http://www.earobics.com/gamegoo/games/frieda2/frieda2.html
There is a fun one on neopets called typing terror, but it is probably also banned at school. might get the kids to play at home though if they are into neopets.
