Eventful day. Here is what happened.

I am so depressed. I got rejected from the school I have been waiting to hear from...they chose the other candidate. After putting me through THREE interviews...they call with a big fat NO.

I interviewed for a LTS position where I did my student teaching today, and the P just called and rejected me. He also gave me the "you are such a good candidate and have a lot to offer" bullshit and "wished me luck." I hate this. I have gotten SO close so many times this summer, and then I get shut down. I am running out of hope. It is already July 10.

However, I did get called for an interview today. Out of NOWHERE-- I didnt even apply there! They found me through PAeducator. They have 1 Kindergarten position, 1 K "Classroom Reduction Teacher" - does anyone know what that is??? and 2 K LTS. This is a really good school district and I would love to work there but I know I will probably have to go through some ridiculous process and then just get rejected again. I have to muster up the energy to REALLY prepare because I NEED one of these jobs!! I have 2 weeks to get ready. I will prob be starting Kindergarten threads soon.

    But I just hate this.

I'm sorry to hear about the rejections, but it's great that you got another interview. I would assume the "Classroom Reduction Teacher," is a job where the class is being formed because of high numbers in the kindergarten at that school. Good luck!

    Ugghhhh

I just found out that my "glimmer of hope" will entail:

    1 interview
    2nd interview
    teaching demo
    AND interview with Superintendent

    :eek::(

You can do it! Don't get too overwhelmed. Just take each step one at a time

We have a classroom reduction teacher this next year. She will be a traveling teacher and not have a room of her own. She will travel to each K teacher and help out.

It does seem like a lot. WOW. But you can do it and do it well. Have your portfolio, your brochure, your great attitude, your sense of humor, and let your personality shine, shine through it all. Let them know that YOU are the best fit for their school! All the best!:thumb:

Good luck, it sounds like there are several great opportunities at the school. I LOVE your determination to have a positive attitude. That is going to help you so much more than having the "right" answers to your interview questions. Remember to share your love for teaching!

Before I was hired I interviewed at about 8 or 9 schools and wasn't hired by any of them...then out of the blue I got a call from a school that I hadn't applied to (I had an application in at the district level, but had never even heard of this particular school). That was my 1st job here in GA...got the job at the interview!

Wow Goopp, I hope that happens to me! Its weird because out of all the interviews I've had, this is by far the best opportunity for me in terms of school, location, pay, grade level preference, etc... and I didnt even apply. I am already starting to prepare and it is over 2 weeks away!

That is a good way of looking at it, Jobsearching! I have heard that many people get jobs in August...but that makes me nervous because there isnt a lot of time to get ready!!! But thats my best bet right now. My next interview isnt until July 27. Today I am really going to try to pick myself up and start over. My attitude goes back and forth. It is so hard not to lose hope. And I hate how people keep asking "SO did you get a job yet??? Did you get that job?" I feel like a broken record saying "Nope, didnt get it.." every time. They dont get how hard it is!

Update: The principal that rejected me (where I was in the final 2) supposedly recommended me to the principal of different school in the same district for a FIRST grade job (my fav grade level). My interview is Tuesday. Weird how things can happen like that...

Live in PA, but went to school/student taught in OH.... so I have been applying all over both states and have had more luck in Ohio. This is a school district in Ohio.

I am excited and hope I have a chance! I student taught first so I feel totally prepared.

Good luck with the next interview!! You can do it!!! It's hard to understand right now- and might not seem like it makes sense..but these things happen for a reason, and maybe you're just waiting to get hired by that DREAM job...which you just haven't found yet!
