I like to share things about my life here - I also like reading about other teachers' lives... so guess what? My 9 year old girls are adopting a kitten each tomorrow. We took them to the county animal control agency and let them see all the homeless babies. They each picked one. We decided to sleep on it - and tomorrow we'll go get them. My last old cat died in May. Our cats were 7 and 8 years old when my girls were born and didn't like to be held, so these are the first little cuddly pets they will have. It's so sweet. M#1 chose a cat from a feral mother's litter. She is jumpy but purred up a storm in my daughter's arms. M#2 chose a cat from a non-feral mother's litter and that one is outgoing and cheerful. Since they are from different litters, we will have to introduce them to our house in separate contained areas, then to each other in one contained area, then to the rest of the house. I'm keen on trying the training kit to get them to use the toilet. That will be after they get used to each other, the house, and us going back to work. I didn't realize how much I missed a purring cat. Ah, happiness.
