...for a technology grant that I filled out online. I've put a note in our newsletter, posted a link on the school site, and asked the students to go home and remind their parents to vote but have had very little response. It is disappointing because I would think parents would be happy to get free supplies and money that would benefit their child's education. Any creative ideas of how to get more parent support on this would be welcome.

If any of you would be willing to vote, here is the link. Thanks!

Could you send a special note home (maybe on coloured paper to stand out?) Other than that I don't have any ideas but I did vote - I love your book idea!

Thanks ally06 for your suggestion. I considered sending notes home on colored paper but decided to send an email to all of the families instead. Many parents never read papers that are sent home, so I was afraid that to go that route wouldn't be very helpful. We'll see what happens. I got quite a few votes today after the emails went out.

Get the kids excited about it. If they go home "begging" the parents to vote-maybe it will happen.

Yes, sadly voting ended and I didn't get enough votes to earn one of the grants. Part of the problem I think is that my school is quite small (only about 250 students) and I was probably competing with larger schools. Thanks though for those that voted!
