    Hi Everybody,
I'd like to learn more about a tracking sheet that you use for writing conferences with your students in writing workshop. What does it look like? Thanks.

Hmm... I'm not sure exactly how you structure your writing workshop, but my conference form is one sheet per student. It has a date column and a notes column. In the notes column I put a R: for my research on what the student is doing, a C: for a compliment I give the student, and a TP: for teaching point. I tried using a single-sided sheet with each kid's name in a square and those same three areas, but I have too many kids (30!) to get the squares small enough to fit on one double-sided sheet.

Do you carry these in a 3 ring binder? Or is there some other way you organize these? This is my weakest area and I would love some suggestions. I conference with each child at least once a week, but I don't take formal notes.
