I'm going nuts trying to wade through all these font websites just to find a zaner-bloser style tracer font with lines. I don't want to use a worksheet maker. Plus, I guess it is a lot to ask for it to be free.

I want the actual fonts though. I want to make my own booklets. I can't do that with premade or even customized worksheets. Sigh.

Just to clarify, you are looking for a font dowload so that you could, say, type a Word document and have it be in the traceable font?

Yes! And preferably also one that makes the lines for the elementary style paper when I type.

I might have it at school on a CD but if I copy it for you could that be copyright infringement????

OOOooooooooooo I was SOOOOOO close!!! I downloaded the one you gave me desari and then I found another website. http://www.schoolfonts.com/ It has the lined one as well. The problem is when you hit space, it literally makes a white space. That means the elementary lined paper effect is broken up every time you type a new word in the sentence. Yuck! On the plus side, you will LOVE the school box font. You know those shape boxes that you write in according to the shape of the letter? They have a font on there. They have both empty boxes and trace dotted letters inside the boxes. VERY COOL.

ughh! I wish I had more time these days. Now that I'm playing with the fonts, I could totally see myself making a picture/spelling dictionary.

Our director actually bought a CD of fonts that has block print, D'Nelian & cursive on it. You can use them with lines or without. You can use them with printed words, dotted words or even lighter dotted words. It's fabulous and I do EVERYTHING with it now!!! It also lets you use the back slash key as the space between words, so you have line without words. She bought it a few years back and I installed it and use it religiously. Since then though, someone borrowed it and lost it. Now new teachers don't have it & we can't anywhere to buy it. We'll keep searching though. Buying isn't as good as free by any means, but it's so valuable to me that I would have bought it if need be. Worth it's weight!!

I quoted the wrong website. Here is a parent directory of these files: http://www.netrover.com/~kingskid/Print_Fonts/

Anything that ends in .TFF is a font downloadable file.

I'm still waiting on a good lined font and not a worksheet maker. Fonts4teachers is the closest but it cost money.

That is a great idea. I've got to try this. Lucy needs way more stimulation and writing her name would certainly get her excited.
