Not sure how many here would agree with this quote from the article... " Getting a degree in elementary education and a teaching credential means that you’re unlikely to ever be out of a job—schools are always in need of great new teachers."
Nope, I do not agree with that article. That might be their assumption, but they are wrong. I remember when CA was really beginning to struggle with massive pink slips and they did their first Pink Friday rally, and I saw a similar thing on FoxNews saying how going into education was a sure way to get a job. Ha!
My daughter just graduated in May with almost 450 other elementary school majors. She is one of the few that has a job that graduated with her and we helped pull some strings to get her a job.
I went back to school and got my credentials in 2008. I have not been able to get a teaching job. (I did get a part time job in a school, which I feel lucky to have!)
