I was thinking about applying out of state back in the spring but then I started getting interviews here so I never really followed through with that. Today I've been thinking about moving - there are several reasons, not just for a job. The problem is that I'm looking to move to NC and I know they were having budget issues AND school starts there in a couple of weeks. Should I just forget it or do you think it would be doable?

I did not get one call from schools in NC and I applied to over 10 counties there.

We had our new teacher meet and greet today for the district. The district hired teachers on FRIDAY! If we still have openings... they are still out there! Apply, apply, apply!:)

I got a call and interview a few weeks back. Then a few days later she called and sounded sad to tell me that the position got pulled( I think cuz of money issues).

So apply...you never know! Plus I feel like yes money is a problem but they have to figure something out eventually esp if they keep getting kiddos :)

I would definitely apply! There are some money issues in a lot of areas of NC, but still go for it. I just graduated from a very good college in NC - and good amount of the people I graduated with are having trouble finding things in NC.. but a lot of people I know have been a lot of last minute interviews lately so it's worth a shot!

You might as well apply if you are willing to move. The worst thing that can happen is that nothing happens. Good luck!

I didn't have much luck w/ NC, but my husband certainly had a few offers---just depends what your certification is, I suppose. He is Science AND Special Ed, so there you go...

No :( I am still applying though and I recently started applying in other states. However, I am on the sub list for one of the districts where I live now, so hopefully I can use that to get my foot in the door if nothing comes up last minute!

NC just passed the budget last week, and I noticed the same day a bunch of openings were posted on my districts website. I say go ahead and apply, I go back August 18th so districts should be in a hurry to hire.

Ack! A school in NC called me for an interview today! I was at work all day and when I called back no one answered so I'm going to call back tomorrow.
