Ok interview number well...enough...Any advice for middle school language arts? *I have read through the threads again. *I have written down answers and practiced *practiced with real people * I have picked out some sample lessons *Now I need to relax because my brain is burnt out
Sounds like you are ready! Definitely get a good night's sleep. I wish you the best of luck. Middle School Language Arts is a great grade and subject to teach! Be confident tomorrow!!!
* Emphasize working in a team - middle school philosophy in a nutshell! * Emphasize the whole student - what will you and your teammates do to help the students be successful? * How will you weight HW versus quizzes/tests, in-class work, etc? In my middle school interviews (for math and science - and I had a ton of them before finally landing a job!), there were very few questions about content of the actual subject matter. They wanted to know HOW I WOULD TREAT THE STUDENTS and WHAT I WOULD DO TO HELP THEM BE SUCCESSFUL. This is a WONDERFUL, BRIEF summary of middle school philosophy - I was asked about it TONS in my middle school interviews, and this would have helped a lot! http://www.rdpsd.ab.ca/~ted_hutchings/Philosophy Best of luck!
