Two projects for the classroom today: This is a table I picked up for free. It had a sliding keyboard tray right under the table top. I had these four baskets, so I took a power drill (love my power drill!) and moved the tray 'guides' halfway down the side legs. So now I have a middle shelf that slides out. This is our podcasting station, so the baskets will hold blank cds, the iPod, etc. My second project will take all next week to finish, I predict. My walls are covered in a thick corkboard like sheeting. It's in really bad shape, but won't get painted this summer. So I got a HUGE bolt of fabric-it's off white/oatmeal color and super soft, like baby flannel. It's actually window shade lining. Anyhow, I'm taking the sheets of the corkboard down, one by one, and wrapping them in fabric. This is the first one I did today-I stapled it with a stapler in the back to secure the fabric, but I'd feel better if I could get a staple gun to REALLY make sure the fabric stays before bolting it back on the wall. Anyhow, here is the first piece: So two projects to maybe inspire you?
