I'm a first year special educator and I have been having trouble coming up with ideas for hands-on activities for my classroom other than labs, which my students are struggling with. I want to teach my students about RNA/DNA and can't think of much hands-on activities. Other than a bead and string activity online but that is pay site. I tried looking at better lesson as well but could not find anything. So any tips for some hands-on activities that I can use for my 8th grade science class would be very helpful.

I made up roles, and had students act out the processes of mitosis/meiosis. They would state their role, and what they were going to do.
