Wow! That is absolutely terrible. I sure hope that the school can figure out what is going on here.

My jaw is in my lap after reading that. I don't care if it's a parent or student who wrote this. Someone needs to answer for that kind of threat.

I was thinking this too, a student who apparently had detention and was apparently hurt by classmates. Or, it could be a crazed parent, upset for their child. Either way, that letter sure is disturbing!

They need to use spell check.....how can you take that serious when they can't even spell "kid". lol

The letter is all over the place, too. I can't quite grasp what the problem is. Nonetheless, I hope they have lots of people investigating this and i hope they find the idiot that did this.

No new information today about the situation. The superintendent gave a very heartfelt speech earlier. It's clear he was shaken by the threats against his own children.

I'm hoping that the writer's clear lack of education parallels with a lack of criminal savvy and he/she will be discovered soon.

Wow. that is so scary and insane. I wonder though.....do you think maybe a kid wrote it and made spelling and grammatical errors to make it look crazier? Or I guess a parent could do the same thing--make it look like it was written by someone less educated to throw suspicion?

I don't know.....for some reason as I read it, I just thought "A kid wrote this". No matter what though, it is seriously disturbing and I hope the person is caught right away. I can't imagine the fear.

After teaching in texas for two years and being in contact with my kids' parents (which was a suburb in inner city houston, tx) I couldn't BELIEVE the emails I got from some students parents... horrible spelling, paragraphs that were one long run on sentence... the list could go on. This could very legitimately be the works of a parent believe it or not...

I feel so very sorry for the Sup's family. I'm sure his family (especially the kids) are very frightened. Not to mention the kids and parents in the school.

    Wow. :(

I don't believe a student wrote this...it reads very much like a (less than brilliant) adult. Among other things, mention of having only the head to bury and the liberal reference do not ring child to me.

I hope it is a young person and not a parent...

I almost accepted a job in this district many years ago and it's only an hour or so away from me. It's very frightening that anyone-parent or student, could be so vicious. I hope they catch this person and he/she is procecuted fully.

I'll bet the letter-writer will be found to have bragged about it to some unsavory characters who will inevitably turn him or her in. I think the spelling errors are intentional; maybe in some weird effort to cover his/her tracks. I have read many student papers (high school), but the words that are spelled wrong in that letter are not ones that are typically spelled wrong. My gut would say it's a hot-headed, perhaps even educated, adult.

I would sure be looking at every parent whose children may have been bullied for confronting disruptive students during class in the 2-weeks prior to the letter. I would think the teachers would have a feel for who that might be; and if not the teachers, the kids would know about that. They may not know about the letter, but you know that rumors travel fast amongst kids when they reach high school, anyway.

What is sad is that if this is real, the children involved know who all is involved... imagine the embarrassment of the child being know for their parent writing the letter. Or even worst the kid gets teased/beat up by the same kids again for this whole incident. Some people just do not think things through. Which just leads to a whole another set of problems.

According to news reports, about half of the nearly 3800 students in the district stayed home yesterday.

I find the letter disturbing on so many levels. I would hope that they are able to develop a list of probable writers from the teachers. Certainly someone will realize they had a student in this position in the right time frame.

May God protect that district and all of its staff and students from someone who is clearly simple, disturbed and viciously violent in their statements.

That's true... but I'm not so sure I'd want to put them out there... it's scary... I would hope the teacher would protect the children, but there's only 1 teacher & let's say 25 lil ones... odds not in the teacher's favor!!! It would concern me with the graphic & detailed nature of the letter.

And although I doubt that this is true, it is always possible it was a school employee that wrote the letter, but hopefully they have an increased police presence at their schools.

Wow. The letter was so disturbing. I am glad the Sup sent his child to school-if he didn't, he may have instilled panic in the district. I am sure that the person will be caught. It is a shame that society has come to this.

The F.B.I. is involved in the search for the letter writer as well. And equally as scary, students have received threatening text messages. This has been all over the news here for the Houston metro area. The Houston Chronicle has several news stories that have ran in the paper concerning the story.

I read that the text messages were warnings about what "he/she" would do if the stipulations were ignored. I even read that "he/she" went as far as to say two girls from the junior high would be shot, then two boys etc. (it was something like that)

total lunatic!!!! Even scarier when writer states... he is terminal. Nothing to lose??? I agree it does sound like an adult trying to mask using weird misspellings.
