This is the most amazing and sad thing I've seen in a long time...

Doing some research today, I came across this website:

    http://photooftheday.hughcrawford.com/

This man took a Polaroid EVERY DAY from 1979 to 1997, including the day he died of cancer at age 41.

It is strikingly amazing. There is no text, no author credit, no description at all. I had to do some research to find out where it came from.

Finally found him on Wikipedia. Amazing.

    :(

Fascinating! Does anyone plan to do this themselves?

That is a really neat thing to do.

I tried to do the 365 project once, where I took a photo a day for 365 days in a row. I made it several months before my camera started acting up, and I got behind with my posting. I never did finish it.

It was fun, though. I should try it again sometime.

Ms. I, this inspired me to try!!!

I think I'll get a new blog and try it out. Just take a picture a day. Of anything that intriques me that day. Might force me to open my eyes, "smell the roses", and find something beautiful/sad/happy/interesting everyday. This might just be a way for me to find myself again.

I've been feeling lost, a bit depressed, sad... Might be a way to get myself out of this slump I've been in... :)

It's relatively easy with today's technology... the amazing thing (besides the story of course) is that he did it presumably with a polaroid camera (ie. big, bulky).

I've actually started the new year the last couple years, trying to take a self-portrait every day... and I'll probably try it again this next year... but it only lasts a couple weeks sadly.

Are there any apps (e.g. journaling apps), that will among other things, alert you to think about your journal every day? I need reminders, inspiration, otherwise I just blow it off. Anyone do a journaling app?

What an amazing story, and an incredible memoir to leave behind.
