I applied for 2 positions at a very small school. The positions were offered to teachers within the school first, and then when no teachers claimed the job, it was open to public. The positions went down on Tuesday. I called them yesterday and asked about interviews and the secretary told me they had not scheduled any interviews. I spoke to the superintendent on the phone today to ask if interviews have started or the positions had been filled. He replied that there were no interviews and the positions were not yet filled, but they would be making a selection tonight at the board meeting. Isn't that odd that the position went down two days ago and they are making a selection without doing interviews? I just wondered if anyone had been offered a position without even interviewing? Thanks!
Alice- The school is in West Virginia where they are split by counties, not districts. This school is the only elementary school in the county which makes it even more odd.
