Today marks day 11 of the 2016-2017 school year. It's also my first sore throat of the year. I woke up thinking, "Say it ain't so!" I hate not feeling up to par!
A few of my colleagues swear by oil of oregano and I started using it last year. Tastes disgusting, but it works!
I gargle equal parts apple cider vinegar and water. I make eighth of a cup, but only use like a medicine dose cup at a time. This is where it sounds weird... but I have done it. Gargle it then touch your toes letting the mixture sit in your mouth while you push your tongue to the roof of mouth ( I do it 3-5 times). Then spit out. It loosens all the gunk in your throat.
Finally feeling back to normal. I ended up with an awful cold. My principal sent me home on Thursday because he could hear me sneezing and blowing my nose all morning (our offices are right next door to each other). Now, my poor BF has what I had! All week long, the kids kept saying, "Your voice sounds weird!"
I'm coming down with the same thing tonight! I seem to always get sick right about week 3 every year.
Me too! It's when the lack of sleep hits me and kicks me in gear for the rest of the year... a reminder that school isn't everything, and it will be okay if I go to sleep without crossing off every last thing on my to-do list. Last week was week 3, and it was the week I came down with a cold. After two nights of going to bed at 8:30 and a few days worth of Zicam, I was much better!
