My third interview is tomorrow at 9:30. I am getting so nervous, but I'm also excited! I really want to work at this school. I like the principal, it's close to my house (about a 5 minute drive) and it's for a 2nd grade position, which is my favorite grade level!

I have spent this past week researching the school and the grade level, making examples of parent communication, writing lessons, thinking of answers to possible questions, and of course reading the posts here! I feel pretty prepared for the technical aspects of the interview. I just hope that I can make a connection with the other teachers!

Ugh! I don't know if I'll be able to sleep! Thanks for letting me vent a bit! :)

LOL!!:D I am in the same boat as you are!!! I am anticipating my third interview also, and it's for a 2nd grade position. How funny!!!The school I'm interviewing with is also 5 minutes away from my house and I actually student taught there. So pressure is on definately. My co-op teacher and other staff members are keeping their fingers crossed for me because I guess I left a great impression on the school in general. I got to know the librarian well, and even the lunchroom staff. I don't know.....I try to think that they would'nt call you for a 3rd interview if they didn't want you but, hey....you never know. Good luck to you!!!!;)

Good luck!! Not that you need to hear this now but I named my youngest Erin and we almost named her Erin Elizabeth. I actually call her that because her middle name is Elaine which is okay but I like Elizabeth better!

    You'll do great!

My theory is, if you are asked to come back to a second interview, that's good, but a third, consider yourself hired! I was in your shoes a few weeks back, and at the second interview I was hired. At that time they showed me where my room would be and pretty much said be ready to work the starting the second wk in Aug. Most importantly, Be Yourself and visualize yourself as their new 2nd grade teacher!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I'm back! I think it went pretty well. They asked me mostly the same questions from the first two interviews, so I felt good about my answers. I should hear by the end of the week!

The questions were (the ones I can remember)...

    1. Tell us about yourself and your experience.
    2. How do you ensure a successful lesson?
    3. What are your behavioral expectations for your students?
    4. What does this phrase "data drives instruction" mean to you?
    5. What do you feel are the components of a balanced literacy program and how would you implement it?
    6. How do you integrate technology?
    7. Describe yourself in three adjectives.
    8. How do you communicate effectively with parents?
    9. How do you design a lesson plan?
    10. What are your biggest strengths and weaknesses?
    11. What special skills and talents will you bring to our program?
    12. How do you differentiate instruction?

I think I maybe forgetting one or two. Thanks for your support, everyone! I'm off to write my thank-you notes...:) :thanks:

I hope so too! I sent my thank-you notes in the mail today and I e-mailed the principal to reiterate my "skills and qualifications."

Yes, each interview is a learning experience. I can only improve my interviewing skills and at each one I feel less nervous going in...the night before though - that's another story!

I guess it's time to start pestering other principals! School doesn't start for a month, I still have hope!

I just e-mailed 17 principals my resume. Hopefully I'll get some calls this week! If not, I'll just have to go pay them a visit...;)

I want to sit on the other side of the table and see what other people are doing that I am not!! I think it hurts more when you think you did so well then you hear a NO.

    Sorry Erin!
