All summer I've been so worried because I seriously thought there was no hope for me to get my own classroom this year. Yesterday I decided to take a break from obsessing over job posts and take a day trip to Austin with my sister. On the way, I got a call from a principal asking if I was available for an interview this morning. The change of scenery must have worked some magic. I walked in completely confident, relaxed, and most of all...me. To be honest, I almost didn't recognize myself. At the end of the interview the principal said, "Rumor has it around here that if I really REALLY like someone, I give them a tour. Would you like a tour our school?" I seriously did a happy dance in the hallway when I left. The rumors must be true because I was offered a 3rd grade math/science position this afternoon. :woot: I get to sign my contract first thing in the morning, and then get working on my brand spankin' new room in the afternoon. Despite the fact that I have not stopped smiling since I got the call, it still hasn't sunk in. So those of you still hunting for a job, keep trying! I know y'all can do it!
