I got the 6th grade math position! It's in my home town. I even went to this school for middle school. I've always loved my home town and am excited to be teaching there.
That is such fantastic news!!! Now, get busy and start planning!! I know you must feel estatic right now!!!
That's wonderful!!! Congrats!!! Go out for lobster and champagne tonight; the planning can wait till tomorrow! But when you do get to it, let me know how I can help!
Thanks everyone. I'm so relieved. My old school starts back in a week and I knew I wouldn't really be able to interview anymore. I'm so glad this came through. I was going to teach 5th grade language arts at my old school and I will teach a two hour language arts block and three math classes at my new school. I'm glad that all the reading I've done this summer to prepare for language arts classes won't be for nothing. I have to thank everyone on this board. I got my first job by just filling out the application. I didn't know anything about cover letters, writing resumes, sending thank you notes, what to expect in the interview, etc. I've learned so much from reading all of the posts over the past year. I never would've had the courage to take my resume and cover letter to the school if I didn't read about it here. I know I wouldn't have the job without these forums. Thank you all!!!
