I just finished reading the Daily 5 and the Cafe Book. In the Cafe Book, there are "touchpoints" on the forms. They didn't talk much about these touchpoints, and I don't really understand what they are. Thanks for your help
You're right, they don't talk about it much. Basically, a student gets a touchpoint whenever you see them working on their particular strategy. This can be during independent work time, while you are conferencing with them, or during small group. I give most of my touchpoints during small group. Whenever a student has 4-6 touchpoints, then you know that they are ready to move on to another strategy.
