my bs is in speech pathology and i was emergency certified as a speech therapist, BUT i really enjoyed the special ed classrooms and i am currently switching to special ed. i know in nj you need 6 credits in special ed and "possess a ce in the subject or grade level to be taught." in order to do alternate route. i was wondering if i needed to take any other praxis besides elementary educatrion: content knowledge? i have spoken with an alternate route coordinator and she had no idea so i am trying to find my way through this whole thing and i was wondering if anyone had any ideas or went through the same situation!!! i was thinking about taking the praxis in speech and language too...but i don't want to actually do that!!! so if anyone has any advice or guidance i would really appreciate it!!!
