Has anyone seen this show! I'm watching it on TV Shack...This one is "The Real Housewives of New York City." They all, thus far, seem so materialistic! Anyone seen the show? What are your thoughts?
I watch it just to remind myself how far from reality they really are! It is like high school cliques/mean girls only they are 30+ and still act that way. The funniest thing is when one of them realizes how crazy it all is and tries to break free - the others all attack.
Yes, they are so out of touch with reality. My goodness. It's all about their homes (sometimes multiple), the clothes, the social circles they hang out with....Sheesh Louise....
OK, it's one of those guilty habits my sisters and I share-- we love watching the Housewives. How can each of us NOT look like Mother Theresa by comparison??
It is like a wreck--you know you should just keep going but you still want to see. I think the little fame has made Jill evil.
I watch the NYC Housewives. I can not stomach the ones from New Jersey since they are prone to physically fight eachother on occasion LOL They have a lot of money and a lot of rich friends but I sure wouldn't want to be one of them!
Love it, love it! I can't relate to the women at all, of course, but I think that's what keeps me watching.....are they for REAL??? LOL!
I'll admit. I DO watch the housewives. This is my first season with the new York crew - though I haven't missed a season of any of the others. BUT!!!!!! I determined last time... i will NOT watch ANY of the New Jersey group ...EVER again. THEY disgust me! ReFUSE!!! **** But those who are watching this New York season... which team are you on? Team Jill? Team Bethenny? Team___? They are ALL train-wrecks!!! **** But heaven help me.... I actually LIKE Watch What Happens Live. (THERE...I said it. - And I am SO embarrassed.)
Team Bethany 100%! I have watched all the Housewives, every season, and I love them all. This is also one of my very guilty pleasures. What do you guys think of the new girl, Sonya? She's funny, if nothing else.
Team Bethenny! Jill makes me want to slap her. Well, maybe if she hangs out with the NJ housewives, THEY can slap her. They're good at that sort of thing LOL Sonya is ok. I thought I would hate her at first but she's not so bad. I like her much better than Kelly.
lol. That's hilarious Alice! I must admit, I just found this show yesterday, but I enjoy it tremendously. I think it's the awe factor! I just keeping watching and thinking, "Really????"
I was never a fan of the Atlanta show, and the NJ show is beyond caricature. Who is this new Sonja on the NY show? I'm not sure just why she's there, other than in case someone (I'm thinking Bethanny) decides to jump ship after the season ends.
I've seen a few episodes of the Atlanta season (or seasons?), much to my husband's displeasure, but none of the rest.
Bethanny has a new show coming out in June, Bethanny Getting Married. I'm not sure if she will continue on Hosewives.
They are "frenemies" now I guess. Apparently, Jill wanted so much of Bethenny's attention and was too "me, me, me" that Bethenny finally told her to "get a hobby" which I took to mean get a life! After that, Jill vowed she was DONE being friends with her. There could be some other details but I think that's the gist of it.
I don't think they are even friends anymore! Jill seems like one of those girls who can only have one friend at a time. (You know the kind.) And apparently right now, that friend is Luann.
Hmm...I guess you're right. Why was Jill upset though when Alex gave her the "message"? She should have been happy about it. These people cause their own drama and I don't feel sorry for any of them!
Because, sob, sob, she was embarassed to have the whole world sob, sob, know!! Of course, when she told Bethanny they were "done" in front of the TV cameras, that was different!!!!!
She also played the phone message for a bunch of people. I think she should be embarrassed about not acting her age!
I guess (from Jill's point of view) it started when her husband was ill (cancer) and Bethenny sort-of blew her and her husband off about it. Jill confronted Bethenny about her non-sisterly/best friend (lack of) support, and Bethenny told her to "get a hobby". *** I just erased a whole long note. It comes down to... I don't really like ANY of them! Alex is (strangely) the most normal and (I can't BELIEVE I'm saying this) the voice of wisdom in the group. **** The Jersey ladies...I can not STOMACH them. And the worst is the older redhead (Caroline). But ALL of them - YUCK! After the season, i vowed not to watch them again. A firend said- "you'll be back." But NO. I will NOT! I would rather have a dentist appointment.
Jill was probably always that way, but we never noticed it because now she's showing her true colors. It's just like how we thought Alex and Simon were horrible in the first season, but now that we see more of them, they are the sanest couple on the show! Ramona is still Ramona, there is no denying that! I do hate Jill now, she's so catty.

Hahaha, SO CUTE!!! They have all the characters down pat! I love watching these shows. I'll watch OC, NYC, NJ...I cannot stand ATL!!! Bethenny's new show is really cute, and funny. I thought I might get tired of just seeing her...even though I enjoy watching her on NYC...but nope, it's a very enjoyable show!!
I love watching them all...OC, NY, Atlanta, NJ, and soon to come D.C. I'm sure much of it is scripted b-c why else would some of these ladies hang around each other? I feel very normal after watching them.
