The "personal stuff" you keep in your classroom / office.

What kind of personal things do you keep in your classroom or office? Stuff for emergencies? Stuff to make your day smoother? Stuff to remind you of home?

I keep:

  • Tampons
  • Advil / Tylenol / Alka-Seltzer, Decongestant
  • Lotion
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Nail clippers
  • Nail file
  • Sewing kit
  • Safety pins
  • Extra outfit (Comfy pants, tank, sweater, underwer & socks)
  • Umbrella
  • Lightweight jacket for days it's chilly and I didn't expect it
  • Chocolate, lots of chocolate
  • Spare change for the vending machines
  • Personal ink pens, pencils, etc., because the ones my school supplies are crap
  • A few breakfast / lunch items: tuna, soup, cans of V8, granola bars, crackers, snacks, etc.

Okay, I think that's about it. I don't have a lot of personal items as far as decorations go... it's mostly just "in case of emergency" kind-of stuff.

Next year I'm going to be sure to have a change of clothes, just in case.

Good heavens!

I'd need a U-haul to take away all of my personal stuff if I ever left my school.

First of all, I have about a weeks worth of teaching attire at any given time. And usually in my room there are at least two bikes (actually, one is usually hitched to a post outside).

I have an exercise ball and about half of the non-student furniture is stuff I brought from home.

I keep a change of cycling clothes in case I get soaked on my way to school. I also have a collection of bike tools and spare tubes and stuff.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

I have....
- nail file
- picture of my hubby
- picture of my duaghter
- tube of airborne
- tylenol
- first aid kit
- gum (from when I was pregnant and naseous ?sp?)

In my purse, I have the personal products (tampons, pads, money.)

I was cleaning out my desk and found a chicken salad kit (canned chicken) from three years ago. It's time to replace the chicken!!!!

Most of the above plus:
winter boots and other attire
slippers for late working
union shirt so I don't have to remember to wear it :)
spare truck keyes

I never thought about bringing some of this stuff...like a flashlight and a spare change of clothes...what a great idea! I do have most of the others though...for food I always keep a bag of popcorn because it can serve as an emergency lunch if I didn't pack one and they are serving sloppy joes or mystery meat, or it can be a snack when the kids forget one and my animal crackers run out! :)
