The last two threads I have read have been about teachers getting opportunities to maybe leave or be transferred "last minute" to teach a different grade, or teachers being hired and then leaving within minutes of signing their contract. This brings to mind the last two years for my school. Last year a teacher left the day before open house for her grade level to take a new position in another town. She had all ready done her home visits and everything. Luckily there was all ready "waiting" in the wings to take her place. Today our central office gets a resignation letter in the mail from another teacher. I am not sure what my principal is going to do. We have two days of inservice next week and then the next week is when we have our district inservice meetings. What I can't believe is that the one that left last year before school started has done it to her school again this year. She got a new job yesterday. Posted it all over facebook. The one that left today at my school I kind of suspected it all summer because she had a baby back in June, she had a long commute, and really was having a hard time fitting in to our school. I just don't get how they can in good faith leave their schools or contracts at this late date. I would never dream of it!
