Has anyone used The Elf on the Shelf from Barnes and Nobles? I'm thinking about using it for my class but wondering from people who have used it how it goes. Let me know!

I am also thinking about doing it with my 2 year olds. I have them on Tues and Thurs. I have 1 year olds on Mon and Wed. I'm not sure the ones will understand so I'm still debating on that group. I didn't get the Elf on a shelf from Barnes and Noble. The elf looked really weird to me. I got a cute stuffed elf at Micheals yesterday. I typed up a letter explaining what his job is. I will let the class name him.
I'm not sure how much of the reporting back to Santa I will focus on instead I'll just mainly focus on it being a mischevious Elf that leaves messes and other fun stuff.
I too am curous if other teachers have done this. If so did you send a note to the parents to explain it to them?

We have a Leprechaun named Shawn that leaves messes and roams the room before St Patricks day the kids love it.
