I have noticed that my preschoolers ( 3 turning 4) are getting very comfortable in the classroom. This has been leading to not following directions and just silly behaviors. What are some of your strategies to deal with the end of the year behaviors.

I have the same issues...every year around late March and April usually well behaved children start to misbehave (not follow directions, pick at each other, tattle, etc.) I usually introduce (I'm doing it tomorrow) a smily face/ frown face chart based on whole brain teaching and use it until either the end of the year or until everything calms down again. I am interested in everyone else's ideas.

    You're not alone!

This is timely :). I just got my Responsive Classroom newsletter with an article on Spring Behavior and what to do about it. Hope this helps...

rearrange the classroom, do something spontaneous or outside the box--- keep them guessing
