She makes the show cool and happening. The nicknaming of the performers is too funny. Mariah is okay, and the two guys are there for the sake of the having an even panel.;)

I have to respectfully disagree. I think she is trashy and acts like she is high most of the time. I have zero respect for her. AI has gone way downhill. I can barely stand to watch it anymore. Not trying to rain on your parade. :)

I don't think she's funny at all. I think she's borderline nutso. I don't like her, and I don't like this "feud" between her and Mariah. I think the show jumped the shark several seasons ago and now is just doing whatever it can to get ratings. I wouldn't be surprised if the "feud" is entirely scripted.

Hilarious is not the word I would use to describe her at all. Sorry but she is crazy and has no right judging other's people singing.

I find her disrespectful to the other judges. On many of the episodes she seemed to be wanting to take control of the panel.

Exactly. Since you can't even really call what she does singing. More like badly ululating profanities and running it through a computer synthesizer.

I hate this show...but with that said, we have a hometown boy on this season. I will watch just to cheer for him.

I don't watch it. I don't like seeing people treated horribly and humiliated. I prefer The Voice because they don't do any of that. :)

I haven't watched it in a few years, but I did tune into the Charlotte edition because some 'local celebrities' filmed a thing for it (they didn't end up making the cut).

Keith Urban was the only judge I liked. The only think I am surprised about is that I liked him more than I thought I would. Mariah came off as a holier-than-thou-b**ch. I don't like Niki Minaj in general, but she was pretty nice to the people auditioning, so she earned a few points there.

Well, and Adam Levine doesn't have anything to do with me turning into the Voice.

I like Nicki. That being said -- I also actually really enjoy rap and hiphop as a genre. A lot of times I think Nicki's comments to the performers are the best out of the panel, but sometimes they are unquestionably goofy.

I wonder sometimes if the stigma against rap and hiphop as legitimate music genres has helped fuel the hatred towards Nicki.

Also, The Voice is definitely my favorite singing show too! I feel like everyone is more genuine on that show.

Honestly, I think they should have someone on the show who has more experience, successful, and respectful. Maybe someone like Mary J. Blige or even Beyonce.

I don't think the stigma against rap or hip hop is behind people not liking or respecting Nicki. I listen primarily to rap and hip hop, and have seen some of the best performers in concert. It's her manner that makes people respond to her, I think. She seems fake and has this "I'm creative and edgy" persona that doesn't seem real.
Love her or hate her, Mariah Carey has put in the time and has the credibility. Nicki hasn't which is why some people don't think she should be a judge. She's there to pull in a younger crowd.

ETA: maybe I'm just getting old but rap is not nearly as creative as it used to be. I hear songs on the radio and think they are so stupid! Give me 90's rap or R&B any day!

Sorry, but Justin Bieber, at the ripe old age of 18 (I know, he's almost 19) does not have enough experience to possibly be a judge or mentor.

I have watched Idol pretty much every year it's been on but I have to say that without Simon, it's really gone downhill. If I were a contestant, I would want an honest critique and to know that I was going to Hollywood because I had real talent..not just because the judges were there for publicity. Last year, Steven Tyler just thought everyone was great and JLo didn't do much better. This year, all of them think everyone is just great. I don't get it. And what's with Keith Urban's mannerisms????? I'm confused. Is he? Not that it matters but I'm just asking if anyone else has noticed?

I re-read my response, and am sorry if I sounded rude--I didn't mean to. Chalk it up to hearing, all-day-every-day, about the Biebs from the girls in my class.

I actually think Justin could provide a unique perspective and good advice to contestants. Then again, I am currently listening to two of his new acoustic songs on a loop through my iPad. Lol.

Only people who actually know how to sing (i.e. took lessons and know the mechanics) should be judges on that show. Bieber is not one of those people. Nor is Nicki Minaj.

    Adam Levine and Beyonce? Absolutely.

That being said, I like Nicki Minaj . Some of her music is interesting and keeps me entertained.
