I am trying to find a cassette or CD to a song that I wanted to teach my class this year and I'm wondering if anyone knows where I might be able to find it. The song is called "The 50 States that Rhyme" and it's about a kid who has to name all of the states and he becomes nervous and puts them into a song. At the end the teacher tells him to sing it "double time". I have found the lyrics and I have even found it on u-tube, but I cannot find it in a place where I can buy it.
    Does anyone have any ideas?

Here's the site I used this year when teaching my class- they LOVED it and we even tied the song into our non-fiction writing celebration!:haha:

CUTE!! I tried to access the one where I can hear the kids singing the song, but it says it's not available.

The song you are looking for was originally part of a patriotic musical called "Liberty". As to whether it is still available in the original arrangement from that musical, I have no idea. Since the musical is from the late eighties or early nineties, it may be hard to find the original recordings or arrangements. I hope this helps you.

That's one of my favorites. I had, at one point, a CD called Yako's World, that had that song, plus "A Quake", which does a great job of reasonably accurately describing the science behind an earthquake.

Oh, that and a song about the UN, of course, Yako's World, which names a bunch of countries, and some other great songs.
