I'm not hosting. The bf and I are driving 6 hours tomorrow night to his hometown. He won the Thanksgiving coin toss...

I get Thursday and Friday off.

My mom's vegetable, rice, and cheese and my aunt's spinach dip and Hawaiian bread. Too bad I won't be getting that this Thanksgiving... :(

I'm going to my boyfriend's family's dinner that they hold at their church.

I get Thursday and Friday off and Monday is a professional development day (so no students that day)

My favorite Thanksgiving food is a cheesy potato and sour cream caserole.

Msaly, you only get Thanksgiving day off?! How unfortunate!
And smalltowngal, you get the whole week off?? I'm jealous!

Yes, the whole week!! I think we're the only district around that is. It's been nice though so I'm not complaining.

Thanksgiving is always at my moms house.

I would have only had off Thursday and Friday, but since I am on "administrative leave" I have been off since Thursday of last week:(.

My favorite food would have to be my moms stuffing. It's just not Thanksgiving without it.

And another family tradition on Thanksgiving is a big game of Scrabble after dessert. We play one serious game and then one where we come up with the craziest words!!! It's silly, but we have the best time! I love Thanksgiving. I would have to say this is my favorite holiday:2up:.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and for those of you who are traveling, please be safe. I remember those drives the night before Thanksgiving when I lived in RI. There are many crazy drivers out there so be careful!!! Happy Thanksgiving:haha:!!!

    Goin to mom's

Thursday off only...how do you get the whole week? I'm jealous.

Favorite food would have to be banana bread for breakfast, then the homemade stuffing.

Oh ya, Go Brett Favre :D

    Happy Thanksgiving to all

I hope everyone has safe travels and that if you are doing the cooking may everything turn out just right.

I am doing most of the cooking: Turkey, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, rolls, green bean casserole, gravy. But the kids are all making something for their "specialty"

We are only traveling 2 miles to my mom's house.

I've given us the week off for the most part to get ready. (thats the good part of homeschooling).

    home made cranberry sauce:

    1 bag cranberries
    1 cup orange juice
    1 cup brown sugar
    zest of 1 orange.

put all in sauce pan. Bring to a boil and let all the cranberries Pop. turn down the temp and simmer for 10-15 minutes, cool and then refrigerate until ready to server. YES its that EASY!! and a lot better than the sauce out of the can.

if you choose you can strain the berries so you just have the sauce.

I'll be cooking and we are expecting 10-12 people.

I am off today (Wednesday), and Thursday and Friday.

My favorite: my husband's stuffing with gravy, but pecan pie is a close second!!

My "baby" just got home from college about an hour ago! :hugs:

We are having Thanksgiving at our house - just the three of us for dinner.

I have Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday off.
(The pumpkin pies are almost done! :2up:)

My favorite food is the turkey - with a little gravy on top.

    Happy Thanksgiving to all!

We join my extended family including my in laws for dinner at our church fellowship hall. Last year we decided that since the women do the cooking the men could clean up. We used Chinette!

    We are off Wed-Fri. Yippee!

The family favorite is my mom's cornbread dressing. She even makes it for my birthday instead of a cake.

I'm hosting my family. This year, there will only be fifteen people, plus my husband and kids. I've been baking pies and homemade yeast rolls all afternoon, and tonight I'll make persimmon pudding and fudge.

Tomorrow, I'll put the turkey in the oven in the morning, and do some last-minute cleaning. Around noon, I'll start preparing some vegetables, and the noodles-and-cheese that is a carryover from when there were lots of small children at the table who wanted something familiar among all the "weird" foods. :)

My sisters are bringing things, too, and Mom will contribute her dumplings, deviled eggs, and dressing.

It's awesome and I love it.

We call it our annual Lard-n-Starch Reunion.

I had a 1/2 day today, and I have off Thursday and Friday.
I am going to my aunt and uncle's house tomorrow.

I love my mom's mashed potatos and my great aunt's reciepe for cream of tomato soup with barley in it. It has been a family tradition to have it every year.

I am off Thursday and Friday. Thanksgiving is at our house with our sons, girlfriends, grandson, our mom's, and this is the good part......one of our friends is a Chef and he is making the entire meal and brining it over AND he and his family (wife and two girls,) are joining us for dinner! Oh< I forgot to mention that our son brings his two DOGS(in my house with our two CATS!) We always have interesting holidays. Friends show up sooner or later and we play games(Malarky.)

Happy Thanksgiving, all. I am off Wed, Thurs, Fri this week. I am going to my sister's house 1 mile away. My favorite foods are stuffing and/or cornbread dressing with gravy. Pumpkin pie, too. I made one yesterday and already had a piece for breakfast.

I still live at my parents', so unless we go to a relative's house, we like having a nice Thanksgiving at our house. My boyfriend spent the entire day w/ me. The only Thanksgiving food I care about is the stuffing. I could really go without everything else. My mom's stuffing recipe is the greatest. I had all week off M-F.
