I am going to Thanksgiving at my mother-in-laws house. We will be staying at least two days so I would like to bring something. The problem is, they don't really like sweets. I was all set to make pumpkin bars until I thought of that. The other problem is that I will be on IVs so I won't be up to making anything very difficult.

So, any ideas for something easy that I can make on Wednesday and bring? That maybe isn't too dessert-like? Thanks!

What about a breakfast strata? You can make it in short shifts and bake it for breakfast Thanksgiving morning.

I've seen a crockpot breakfast recipe going around, it looks easy and a nice warm breakfast that no one has to cook is a plus. Also, homemade chex mix is good!

How about bringing something instead of making it?

A bakery tray of cookies? A fine bottle of wine? A bottle of Baileys? An antipasta tray?

How about spiced nuts? There are various recipes, easy to make, and high in protein.

Oooh, I have a recipe for Orange Chipotle pecans with cranberries. I might need to make a batch of those.
