what do you do with your classroom?
I, typically, have a simple snack (cookie/milk/water) and an art activity.

We'll probably bake something as a life skills activity..likely pumpkin bread.

Division 1 will do 1 hour of crafts and that will be it. We don't do food, although one grade 5/6 teacher has her parents (the teacher's parents) bring in a whole Thanksgiving meal for her students.

I talk about what Thanksgiving was like for me growing up. And traditions. Send home a note for kids to talk with parents about family traditions. Do a few craft projects and that is it.

In the past we have read the story Stone Soup. Then each child brought in a vegetable and we would make a vegetable soup. Then we would invite parents in to enjoy our vegtabe soup that we made together. We would also recite a thanksgiving poem. It is a lot of work but it does turn out nice.

Oh that sounds fun. Instead of inviting parents we could invite our 4th grade buddies down.

We do a stone soup with about 6 classrooms. Each class makes a crock pot full of soup the day before, and then we all meet in the cafeteria to eat it.

Our school does a feast so we just do a craft that will be used as decorations in the cafe.

Our kinder does a feast (food provided by the parents) in the classrooms.
