TGIF! It has been a rollercoaster week. I guess sometimes we feel all weeks are that way. This week I got a mega dose of parent conferences. As an Aide, I have VERY little contact with parents directly. This week, however, I sat on and spoke in FOUR parent/teacher conferences. Two of them was to support and give observations about a previous student. One was because I provide the modification. The last one, however, threw me for a loop. Half the complaints were about me. Although my administration backed me up and it was obvious she was frustrated with things that happened before this year, I had to at least respect that the parent requested that I be there.

Now I'm sitting here with pizza delivery on the way, a wine cooler in hand and trying not to think of tomorrow's crisis. I have an entire house to spitshine and fruit flies to trap. They have taken over. Even though I've removed the original culprits, they are attracted to any moisture and I even have them by the hundreds in my bathroom. Yep, my weekend will be fun.

    TGIF!!!

Sorry to hear about the rough conferences and the fruit flies issue! I've had an extra large dose of parent-teacher conferences this week, too! Luckily, my district gave the teachers a comp. day for the extra hours this week. But, I feel your pain...
Now I'm off to school (on my day off!) to get some work done...I'm a nerd...

I do get a day off, technically, on Monday. The base closes leaving me without a sitter for my youngest. I still have to get up and take my other two to school and then I have a friend who is moving her stuff into my garage and out of her storage. So it's not really a day off. I need one.

Pull up a chair and let's clink those glass wine coolers DeeDee. (Toast: To a better start next week).

I hate our pizza hut delivery. 85 minutes is not an abnormal delivery time estimate. I had to take over someone else's lunch duty due to a conference so I skipped lunch and I'm starving.

I don't mind having some parent conference experience under my belt, but 4 in a week was a bit much. Most of it was positive though. In fact I got gushing praise at one of them that included a panel of specialists. Too bad that one wasn't today. :)

Thanks for reminding me that at least one point in my week was really great. As an aide, it is especially gratifying to have people you don't expect to pay attention to pat you on the back. This was the one about the modifications I'm providing. It is wonderful because this is a new area for our school and this was my first observation of any kind (all day) and it included a few specialists. It also was the first feedback or suggestions I've recieved for it. I was dancing at the end of it. It definately makes the school look good and I'm happy the student is recieving exactly what they need.

What was up about your week?

I am learning that you have to wade through the (crapola) of life in order to truley appreciate the good things ....but the wadeing process can be exauhsting .... I feel like I am doing so much and its all starting to come to a head ...I got a paper back today and lets just say it was not the grade I was expecting .. Thank God for the little babies at my center , makes little things fall away ..lol

I'm with you. I'm exhausted. I kinda went off on my hubby (in Afghanistan) because I told him the van is making noise and he said it was simple...take it to the dealership and they will give you a loaner. I have something simpler. Screw the van and take the car to work. Hahaha. Between the fruit flies and all the things that break down around here and the crazy year I'm having at work, I'm just too tired to care about car repairs.

As soon as he comes back, I have to dive straight into schooling and I'm dreading it big time. I'm too tired for that crud.

What?! That makes no sense? They can't fix it until it is completely broken? Well, my humorous story is when my mom gave me a temporary car to drive as my first car after my license and it didn't have a working spedometer. She claims it kept me honest since I would always worry about speeding unknowingly and getting a ticket. It didn't help that we didn't have insurance on the car. Groan.

I'd rather have a car repair to worry about than these stupid fruit flies that have infested my house. In August I spent then entire month battling lice with each treatment being 8-10 hours to treat the house and family.

Thanks for keeping me company tonight. :)

    You ready for a STORY!

Okay, the fruit flies tattled on my children! I have a sectional couch that has a broken recliner for the middle chair. The only way you can get something under it is to physically pick it up. After seeing fruit flies swarming around it, I wondered what the deal was. There were 3-4 plates of old food under it among other things. WHat the heck?! The kitchen is in the next room. It takes more effort to pick it up and shove it under than than to walk a few feet and stick it in the sink. I don't get kids. They tattled in a few other places too.

Now that made me laugh! It will be another, "but I was in labor with you for 33 hours (real truth) story." I even have pictures to prove it.

Pizza came and I conked out at 8:30. That is extremely rare for me. Of course I'm up again at 5am. How fair is that?!
