Hellllllllloooo, It's been a long week, filled with decorating and organizing and packing and unpacking and moving, etc... =) I have been looking over the grading report cards that I am to fill out quarterly and I would like to sort of test students in the first week to gauge where they are. It's always nice to show parents how much students have improved from the beginning of the year! Does anyone have any tests or test formats that they use for letters or numbers or anything like that? We don't really have anything specific to test them with, so I am looking for any good resources as well! THanks a million!
We use Brigance screening at the beginning of school. I also have a sheet with basics on it (shapes, colors, numbers, upper case letters, lower case letters, etc.) After Labor Day, I start our "games" to see what they already know. (I used to call it Skittle games.... if they do their very best on the game, they got to have a Skittle when we finished. Now, I don't think I'll be allowed to use Skittles:unsure: ) I'm already in withdraw about it, but will overcome and move on.... We have to do benchmarks at the end of every 9 weeks, but the first basic sheet gives me an idea where they are.
That sheet sounds perfect!! Would you happen to have a copy of it that you could pm me.... ? =) I already did preK surviver kids with lifesavers in them that I think I will have to take out. =/ I know candy's not nutritious... but one lifesaver isn't too much (in my book). However, I don't run the school so I suppose I will follow the rules!
