This day should have been promising! It's friday (after a loooong week) AND payday...how much more could a girl want! So my day started with an email from the superintendent saying that our paychecks will not be deposited today due to a bank glitch. It could be monday before they go through. This is the worst pay cycle for that. I just moved, so have had extra deposits, bills, moving expenses, etc. as well as the regular bills around this time of the month. This is the one that really ticked me off!!!! At around noon I got another email from the grad school I applied to saying that my file is not complete because one of my references didn't send in her recommendation! I had asked all three references in January and have sent reminders on a regular basis since. This one (my former principal) has had me worried. Her personality has changed a lot since I left, but she agreed to do the recommendation and also went to this university for her masters. The deadline was April 15 (last sunday). I emailed her on the thursday before as a reminder. She said it was done and just needed to be proofread. She assured me that she would get it in by sunday. The first email notifying me of my incomplete file was yesterday. So I contacted her again, she said she would resend it yesterday afternoon. Today...the university still has nothing!!! I find out via Facebook that she is in Chicago...must be fun!!! Words can't even begin to describe how upset I am over this! I'm hoping this is all just a bunch of coincidences...but I honestly think she didn't do it. I have asked if I can have a new person write a letter, but haven't heard back from the school yet. If I don't get in because of this I will be devastated and beyond disappointed in her. This day just blows!!!!
I am so sorry! I think it must have been one of those weeks for a lot of people! We had our bank information stolen for the 3rd time. It's been a HUGE mess! We are finally getting it sorted out and have finally moved to a new bank as of today. Hopefully all of this will stop happening now. I hope that you still get into your grad school! I would think it that's the only thing lacking, they will let you have a new person complete it and it should be okay. Most universities are so low in enrollment that I would think they'd be pretty flexible.
Here's hoping that you still get into grad school. I know that the recommendations, for me, caused a problem. 1 of them never made it, she said she did it. I talked to my school & had someone else fill out the form.
Oh dear! I'd be beyond frustrated too. Hope all goes well! This school year has been the most challenging of my entire life & honestly this month has been one of the busiest of my life. But...17 days left before summer!
